Join us for the final part of a 3 part series on the 5 Loaves and 2 Fish Challenge coming to Providence Church on Saturday September 25. It is designed for High School juniors and seniors who wish to explore career/college major options based on their personality and their Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) results. 

In this episode we will hear from parents, Randy Nickel, Steve Trenta and Stephanie Betz, who have experience the MBTI workshop and found a way to help their student make wise career choices. We will also be discussing with High School Counselor, Elisa Talmage the common myths and mistakes high school students make when choosing a college major or career.

Meet Udell Holmes III, Adjunct Professor of SDEV 190: Introduction to the LCCC Community. Udell completed his Associate of Arts degree at LCCC then transferred to Cleveland State University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While at LCCC he served as Student Senate President during the 2019-2020 academic year. He brings a wealth of information on the advantages of a community college education and how it enabled him to complete his A.A degree debt free.

Are you frustrated with the financial aid process?

Join us for a conversation with Carrie Short, Director of Financial Aid at Lorain County Community College. Don’t miss out on free money because you failed to apply to financial aid, got frustrated with the process or failed to update your contact information.

Realize many times financial aid will need to verify your information. The government requires this. It is not personal, but it can be frustrating. Make sure you are in contact with your financial aid office by checking your email. During the pandemic, use the chat line first or email before calling. 

Apply for the FAFSA. Update your contact info regularly.

  • Apply for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at https://studentaid.gov/
  • Make sure your current address, phone number and email information is accurate and up to date.
  • Many students miss out on grants and scholarship because they either didn’t apply or their financial aid office could not reach them. 
  • Check your school email regularly.
